Legend has it that on St Ursula's Day (21st Oct) a British princess (another ex-pat) stopped off in Basel and prayed at St Martin Kirche (praise MealTicket) after returning from her pilgrimage to Rome while accompanied by her 11,000 hand maidens.

Later she was martyred with all her 11,000 virgins when the Hun had their heads chopped off.
