Hashers: to fill the long gap between the July hash (Saturday 2nd) and the August hash (planned for Saturday 13th), mismanagement have come up with an intervening event. The 31st July is not only the day of the spectacular fireworks show in Basel (to celebrate Switzerland's National Day the next day), but is also the birthday (in 1903) of the accepted founder of the Hash House Harriers, A.S. The hash starts at 2pm from the Eglisee tram stop: take tram 2 from the SBB, direction Eglisee (!), or tram 6 from the town centre, direction Riehen. A to A, with a bag car provided. Runner and Walker trails.

After the circle, we return to town for an On Inn. Tram 2 takes us to "Kunstmuseum" stop. We walk down the steps at the top of the Wettsteinbrucke to the Basel Dragons Center where there is a pay-as-you-go bbq, 7pm onwards, and from where the fireworks (10pm onwards) are very visible. The Center is run by the Basel Dragonboat Club and by the Basel Dragons Running Club http://www.baselrunning.ch/ The event is open to the public (and gets very crowded – unsuitable for buggies), so, in order to reserve enough seats at the "top" tables, we will need to know numbers.
